Aisling Bea

Aisling is a well-known Irish comedian who has been around for quite a while. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. She appeared with Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16th March, 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea, who began appearing as a part-time actress on Irish or British TV shows in 2009, began her career as a stand-up comedian in 2011. Bea began performing often on sketch comedy and sitcoms from 2012. After she received an award at Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2011, Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2011 and then became a regular on various panels, and is currently a regular. From 2016 to 2017 she was a team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant for the sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was born to Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. She was only the second ever female to be a winner of the show So You Think You're Funny. Bea was given to her in memory of her father. Aisling Claiodhnadhs Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, in Kildare, County Kildare. Her father Brian was a veterinarian who worked with horses who died by suicide when she was just three years old. However, she was not aware of the cause of death until 13 years later. The stage name Bea was a tribute for her father. Bea wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience with suicide. Bea as well as her younger sister Sinead, were raised with Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) an ex-jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. The family was obsessed with racing and horses. Bea began her career as a tour-guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea knew early that racing wasn't the right fit for her.
