Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. When she was a kid, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. From the age of six Emma realized that she wanted to be an actress and for several years, she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied performing and singing. She had already performed in numerous Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's debut film came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It broke all records in beginning-day and weekend-opening sales as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The critics were impressed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The highly distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma later won five awards for her performance in the movie.
